Obituary for Vivian Lareen Van Orden

Vivian Lareen Van Orden, 80, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at The Canyons retirement community in Twin Falls, Idaho surrounded by family.

Vivian was born in Reno, Nevada in 1941 to Dick W. Truscott and Mary Rawlings Street Truscott. She moved to Twin Falls with her family in 1948. Vivian went to school in Twin Falls and graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1960.

She married Tom Armstrong in 1969 and they were later divorced. Tom and Vivian had two children, Jason Thomas Armstrong, and Sheril Renae Armstrong.

Vivian loved the Lord and was an active member of the Community Christian Church in Twin Falls until they moved to Richfield and became a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Vivian met Dell Van Orden while working at the Thomas Kinkade Gallery in the Little Red Hen gift shop and they were married on New Year's Day of 2000. She loved to travel and she and Dell went to Mexico, Hawaii, Canada, Italy, Greece, London, Scotland, Ireland, Turkey, and Switzerland. Dell and Vivian had great times in their RV going to Arizona for the winters where she met and loved her "Winter Family". They worked as campground hosts at Redfish Lake for seven summers, they loved and supported their grandchildren and family was their top priority.

Vivian is survived by her husband, Dell Van Orden, son Jason (Darcie) Armstrong of Winchester, Virginia and daughter, Sheril (Mike) Munsee of Twin Falls, brother, Larry (Kathleen) Truscott, stepchildren Gary (Jill) Van Orden of Roseville, California and Nancy (Kent) Lee of Twin Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Dick Truscott, sisters Marilyn Thompson and Sharon Scott.

She loved her grandchildren Tyler, Sierra, Carter, Dylan, Sophie, and Drew with her whole heart. Vivian had numerous nieces and nephews that she adored. Her beautiful smile and huge heart were a blessing to many.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Visions Hospice, her doctors and nurses, and the caregivers at Canyons Retirement Community where she spent the last five months.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 4 at Magic Valley Bible Church in Twin Falls, Idaho. Family and friends can share their thoughts and memories at whitereynoldschapel.com
