Obituary for Robert Roy Jacky

Robert (Bob) R. Jacky of Jerome, Idaho, passed away peacefully at his home on December 8, 2021, at the age of 96.

Bob was born on April 17, 1925, to William Otto and Sadie E. Jacky in Twin Falls. He was the 9th of 10 children, arriving only minutes after the 8th child, his twin, Betty. After graduating from Twin Falls High School, Bob joined the Navy, sailing aboard the U.S.S. Providence from Norfolk, Virginia, to Europe and around the Mediterranean until the end of the war. In 1948, he married Rhoda May Rhodes, with whom he had four children, Bill, Curt, Sue, and Ann. In 1961, Bob and his family moved to a farm on Golf Course Road in Jerome, which he farmed for the next 50 years.
Bob’s children considered him their Rock of Gibraltar – always steady, strong, and reliable. He loved his family, candy, buttery popcorn, going out to breakfast, and his dogs. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by three of his children, Bill (Becky) Jacky, Sue (Wes) Vance, Ann (Chuck) Schabacker; six grandchildren, Gage Jacky, Wendy (Jeff) Allbright, Jan (Rick) Bohling, Brian (Julie) Moeller, DeAnna Schabacker (Stephen Armstrong), Rob Schabacker (Cassie Tycast); four great grandchildren, Mathew and Joshua Allbright, Jaylynn Wolfe, and Shelby Moeller; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son, Curt Jacky, his parents, his nine siblings, and his many beloved dogs.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Sunset Memorial Park 2296 Addison Ave E. in Twin Falls. Condolences may be left at www.whitereynoldschapel.com.
