Obituary for Randy Jack Barker

“Trust in the Lord and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also unto him; and he shall bring it to pass” Psalm 37:3-5

Randy Barker, born February 24, 1962, passed away in his home on February 18, 2022. He was loved as our brother and uncle. Randy was the 5 child of 8 children. He was happy with his own company and loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He was always the uncle that would tickle you and do his best to make you happy. He was proud of his family and would introduce you to anyone he knew. He had passion for the love of our country and devoted several years of his life as a soldier in the National Guard. He was honorably discharged due to health reasons. After he was discharged, he still was a devout soldier by volunteering his time at the local VA. He would go to their monthly luncheons and serve our country’s veterans.

As his big brother Rick states, “Randy, as a younger brother, will truly be missed by me. I had figured I would be the next of the kids in the family to pass. I guess not. As we have gotten older, we went our separate ways to live our lives. I have not seen much of Randy since mom passed. His life may have been somewhat complicated prior to the end. Now he is in the Lords hands and is along side his mom and dad. May he be blessed in his journeys. He still is in my thoughts as well in my heart. Someday, we will be together again in spirit and as a family.”

He is preceded in death by his father Jack William Barker, his mother Naida Jean (Sweat) Barker, and his nephews Shawn, and Nicko. He is survived by his son, Christopher Jack Barker, his brother Rick, Kerry, Chip (Donna), Kirby (Ruth), and Toby and his sisters Kris and Pennie.
