Obituary for Phyllis Marie Tellez

Our beloved Phyllis (Shoneta) Tellez passed away on March 5, 2022, in Meridian, ID unexpectedly following a short illness. Phyllis was born June 16,1946 in Superior, Wyoming. The Martinez family settled in Twin Falls, Idaho in 1951. She attended school in Twin Falls. She worked for several Twin Falls businesses including the Parisian Laundry, Troy Laundry, Kellwood, Universal Frozen Foods and she retired from Amalgamated Sugar.

Phyllis married Aurelio Arambula and two daughters, Jessica, and Elia, were born from this union. Later in life, she remarried and was blessed with a son, Christopher.

The simplest pleasures in life brought Phyllis happiness. She was happiest when family was around sharing great food, music, and especially dancing. Phyllis loved creating delicious food and was always quick to offer a hot meal and was famous for the home-made flour tortillas she offered to all who visited. She was a loving person and so special to every member of the family.

Phyllis unconditionally accepted all of us despite our quirks and crazy personalities. She especially loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great granddaughter and was the happiest when they were with her. She worried about them, protected them, forgave them when needed, laughed with them, and always kept on loving them. Phyllis’ love of life didn’t come to an end with her death but will continue to grow in her family as they honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Phyllis’ spirit is carried on by her daughters, Jessica Flores (Daniel Antillon) and Elia (Antonio) Rey, the grandson she loved as a son, Cameron Brown, ten additional grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She is survived by two sisters, Enedine (Leo) Sanchez, Mary Lou (Luis) Olivas of Twin Falls and five brothers, August (Cindy) Martinez, Tacoma WA, Tony Martinez, Jacob Martinez, Ron (Barbara) Martinez and Robert (Toni) Martinez all of Twin Falls ID as well as many nieces & nephews. She was pre-deceased by her son, Christopher Ramos, parents Jose Armenio & Margarita Martinez, a brother, Wilfred Martinez, and sister, Darlene Lopez.

A funeral service will be held at 10 am Friday March 11, 2022 at White-Reynold’s Funeral Chapel 2466 Addison Ave E. in Twin Falls with a viewing from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
