Patricia “Pat” Kay Gergen was born on September 21, 1948, and passed away April 12, 2023. Her parents were Alvin and Marjorie Harlow. She was the youngest of three, but only by eight minutes. Her womb mate Marvin Harlow escaped first.
On December 27, 1965, Pat married Albert Lockwood. They had two girls: Holly and Melanie. She enjoyed life on the farm and said she was constantly cooking for everyone. This would later pay off in 1986, when she married Jerry Gergen.
Pat loved music and passed that along to her kids and grandkids. You would often find her in her house with the radio turned all the way up, cleaning and dancing. Her absolute favorite was Alan Jackson.
Pat had many talents. Sewing Easter and flower girl dresses, to name one. She became interested in Indian weaving, and her and her husband Jerry made several blankets. She also loved to crochet and embroider.
Pat’s biggest talent was her cooking. She was an amazing little chef, earning the title “Miss Additive “. Her girls gave her this name, for all the different things she would add to her meals. No one ever left her house hungry.
Her greatest passion though, was her grandkids. Pat thoroughly enjoyed her three beautiful girls; Kaylee, Lyndsey, and Samantha, and her handsome boy; Mason “Cooter Man “. She would tell us how she wished we had kids as ornery as we were. The joke was on her though because of how much time she spent with them.
Pat is survived by her sister; Evelyn (Jim) Thompson, brother; Marvin (Sue) Harlow, daughters; Holly (Kim) Kent, Melanie Lockwood (Kevin Kuykendall), grandchildren; Kaylee Kent (Mikey Adams), Lyndsey Moncur (Jim Brown), Mason (Coartney) Moncur, Samantha Moncur (CJ Smith), six grandchildren, Terri Orr and her family, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; Alvin and Marjorie Harlow, her husband; Jerry Gergen, and his children; Angela and Kim Gergen.
There will be a funeral service honoring Pat, on Saturday, April 22, 2023, starting at 11:00 am at White- Reynolds Funeral Chapel. There will also be a visitation held on Friday, April 21, 2023, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
