Melba Nadine (Huntley) Smith

Melba N. Smith of Twin Falls, passed away June 2, 2022, surrounded by family, at Bridgeview Estates in Twin Falls, Idaho. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Howard D. Smith (deceased 1981).

Melba was born September 20, 1937, in a rural farmhouse in Oregon. She attended public schools in Beaverton, Oregon, and surrounding areas. She is survived by her 4 children, Delbert L. Motz, Jr. (Lolli) and Elaine J. (Motz) Green (Dave) from her first marriage and Kevin D. Smith (Kendra) and Kelly L. Smith from her marriage to Howard Smith on November 2, 1963, 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her entire generation, parents; Orville A. & Ruby M. Huntley, sisters; DeEtta (Luther) Likes, Derlene (Lou) Humphreys, Imogene Smith, Marlene Huntley, and a brother; Arnold (Carol) Huntley.

Melba worked many jobs helping support her family. She drove school bus, worked retail, cashiered at Cactus Pete’s in Jackpot, Nevada in the early sixties, and many more. After retirement she took care of her parents until their passing while they lived at the Twin Falls Care Center. Also, she took care of a younger sister Marlene for many years before her passing. Melba was always there for everyone else.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Bridgeview Estates Long Term Care Facility. They did such a wonderful job taking care of Melba the last several years.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Bridgeview Estates Long Term Care Facility to help those there who can’t afford incidentals such as haircuts, perms, clothing, etc.

Funeral services for Melba will be directed by Reynolds Funeral Chapel, 2466 Addison Ave. E., Twin Falls, on Saturday, June 11, 2022. Viewing from 10:00-11:00 AM. Funeral Services @ 11:00 AM. Graveside services to follow. The family asks that everyone join them for a gathering immediately following the graveside services at Cascade Park, 1900 Stadium Blvd, Twin Falls, ID.
