Obituary for Maureen L. Brierley

June 3, 1955 to December 26, 2022

Maureen (Moe) Brierley passed on December 26, 2022 from her second long battle with cancer.
Moe was born in Denver, Colorado, fifth child to Leo Joseph Brierley and Jeanine Yvonne Petit Brierley, the only “summer” baby welcomed to the Brierley family. Moe came to the loving arms of her parents, three older brothers (Michael, Danny, Steven) and one older sister, Sheila. She would later be joined by a younger sister, Kate.
During Moe’s early life she was raised in Denver, Westminster, and Bear Valley. She, also, attended junior high school in Buena Park, California, and two years of high school in Liberty, Missouri.

Moe moved to Southern Idaho and attended the College of Southern Idaho where she became the first female student body president. From there, she moved on to Boise, Idaho where she received her BA at Boise State University, earning a degree in Social Work.
Moe moved to Sandpoint, Idaho where she gave birth to her eldest daughter, Heather. From there, Moe moved to Seattle, working in the finance and clothing industries. Anxious to earn her Master’s Degree, Moe applied and was accepted for a scholarship to attend the University of Washington, earning her Master’s Degree in Social Work with Clinical.

Moe gave birth to her son, Max, who was her angel until the end.
Moe was a warrior when it came to representing and protecting her clients in the assisted living industry. She fought administration, always putting her clients’ needs and safety first.
Moe had an incredible wit and awe inspiring intellect. She loved fiercely and battled without inhibition. If you needed anything, Moe would be there for you, no questions asked.
The void her passing leaves is impossible to measure, as is the sorrow that is left in its wake.

Moe joins her Dad, Joe, Mother, Jeanine, eldest brother, Michael, and second eldest brother, Danny. She leaves behind, her daughter Heather, son Max, grandson Felix, granddaughter, Edie, her brother Steven, sisters Sheila and Kate, multiple nieces, and two nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a trust fund will be setup for her son, Max M. Brierley at 1st Federal Savings Bank in Twin Falls, Idaho.
