Obituary for Mary Ann Rice

Mary Ann Rice went home to be with her Lord and Savior after a short illness on 02.18.22

A woman this beautiful is hard to describe in a few short sentences. Mama, you will be desperately missed!
Born in Alice, Texas in 1948, her family then moved to San Antonio where she lived until she was 18.
Daughter of Lou and Carmen (Vasquez) Finley and the youngest of 2 brothers, John and Edward and 1 sister Margaret.

In 1967 Mary Ann ventured to California where she was destined to meet David Rice, a crazy Marine just back from Vietnam who fell in love with her instantly. Mary Ann had the most wonderful laugh and so it became his life’s mission to make her laugh every chance he got. They were married on Jan 31, 1970, where they remained in California for a time laughing and dancing up and down the coast. David and Mary Ann then moved back to Idaho to help with the Rice family farm. Mary Ann joked that if she had known geography better she would have thought twice about marrying him, the Texan in her never got used to the cold Idaho winters. Of course that was a joke because he was her whole life. They were inseparable and it stayed that way until God called her home.
David and Mary Ann had their first daughter Debbie in Idaho. They then moved back to California for a bit where their twin daughters Margaret and Missy were born. After some time they moved back to Idaho where their baby daughter Daisy was born. Mary Ann spent many years taking care of her family at home and also many terrific years working for Idaho Power.

She loved everyone she worked with and always said they were the best people.

Mary Ann also loved natural health, she was always reading and visiting health food stores. When the girls were grown they bought The Health Food Place in Twin Falls and for 22 years served many wonderful people. At one point David and Mary Ann were ready for a change of scenery so they headed to Las Vegas where they learned real estate, met wonderful people and created many more beautiful memories. Later they came back to Twin Falls where they have been ever since.

Life is good in a home filled with love and ours was full of it. Our parents only hobby was each other and their girls so everything was a family affair. Church, shopping, playing, traveling & laughing were all done together. She deeply loved her husband, daughters, her sons-in-law and all of her beautiful grandbabies and great grandbabies.

Mary Ann is survived by the love of her life, David Rice and four Daughters, Debbie (Gary) Wilson of Twin Falls; Wilson kids: Austin (Hailey) Wilson, Dillon Wilson, Emma (Riley) Presher, Ellie (Jason) Wathen Wilson great grandbabies: Mesa, Presley & Tuff Wilson, Easton & Miles Presher and Lane Wathen; Daughter Melissa (Michael) Metcalf of Twin Falls, Metcalf kids: Molly Metcalf, Mason Metcalf; daughter Margaret (Brandt) Casey of Eagle, Casey kids: Colin Casey, Creed Casey, Cael Casey; daughter Daisy (Scott) Mclain of Jerome, Mclain kids: Riely Mclain, Sara (Adam) Dmochowski, Josie (David) Hart, Mclain great grandbabies: Charlee & Beckett Mclain, Marshall Dmochowsky, Daisy Jo Ann Hart.
