Obituary for Margareta Mayer

Margareta “Marge” Mayer passed away November 20, 2020, in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Marge was born January 24, 1926, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Henry and Margareta Sievers. Marge attended school in Kimberly and graduated in 1944. After high school, she attended the University of Utah Nursing School through the Nurse Cadet Corps in Salt Lake City. She graduated and became a registered nurse in 1948. A year later, February 20, 1949, Marge married the love of her life, Ruben Mayer in Twin Falls, Idaho. They had three wonderful children, Marla Egbert of American Falls, Idaho, Marlene Kelsch of Billings, Montana, and Mac Mayer of Boise, Idaho.
Marge was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Twin Falls. She loved making quilt tops for her church’s outreach program, often sewing 80-100 quilt tops a year.
Marge is past president of the Rose Society of Twin Falls. She had a passion for growing roses and had 34 in her own yard. Marge loved making desserts for family, friends, and funerals.
Marge took great pride in her work as a geriatric nurse. She worked many years at Woodstone Assisted Living and Heritage Manor.
Marge is survived by her three children listed above and her three brothers, Henry Sievers, Herman Sievers, and Gerald Sievers, all of Kimberly; eight grandchildren, Kevin Egbert, Karen Egbert Flom, Cortney Kelsch Falcon, Scott Hanes, Alyssa Mead, Ryan Raines, Jillian Hanes, and Chad Hanes, and twenty-two great grandchildren.
Marge is preceded in death by her husband Ruben Mayer, both of her parents, her sister Johanna Brown, and her granddaughters Kelli Kelsch and Kristin Hanes.
Marge is now with her “beautiful Savior.”

Due to Covid-19 the family has asked everyone to wear masks and practice social distancing at the graveside service.
