Linda Ann Henning, 69, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in her home on August 17, 2022, after a long, hard-fought health battle.
Born in Pocatello on December 2, 1952, to Leo and Clara Behrend, Linda moved to Twin Falls for school and shortly met Gary Henning at a church event. He saw her and immediately thought, I need to ask that girl to go water skiing. She said yes, of course, and the rest is history.
Linda married the love of her life on October 7, 1972, and they enjoyed nearly half a century of married life—friendship, parenthood, grandparenthood, way too many remodels, building a business and a cabin—and above all, an enduring love, in sickness and in health.
Linda found happiness in many things: cheering on her three kids from the bleachers, working right alongside Gary, loving on her sweet grandchildren, riding with the “Over the Hill” gang, and sinking a putt for par.
When you sat down to chat with Linda, by the end of the conversation you were either laughing or having a good cry. She had the ability to look into your soul and best of all, you knew you’d made a friend for life.
Linda loved life and will be remembered as the most generous soul and a fierce defender of her family and her faith. Her life was lived giving to others, and she was most happy with her friends and loved ones around her. Linda was known for her “zingers” and could put anyone in their place with one line and a smile on her face.
Linda will be greatly missed and intensely celebrated. Not a day will go by without remembering her smirk and laugh, her warmth and humor. Our lives are richer because she was in them.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gary; son Andy (Ange) Henning and grandchildren Paige, Connor, Ty, Madi; daughter Amber Henning and granddaughter Renai; son Adam (Becca) Henning and grandchildren Jackson, Cooper, Halle; and four sisters and seven brothers.
In lieu of flowers, family and friends are encouraged to make charitable donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
A rosary will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at 7:00 pm at White- Reynolds Funeral Chapel in Twin Falls. A funeral mass is scheduled for Thursday, August 25, 2022 starting at 2:30 pm at St. Edward's Catholic Church.
