Leona and Denny were practically grandparents to us when we were growing up and they cared for our family like we were their own. Many evenings were spent around a table eating dinner and playing games. Leona's kindness was unending and both she and Denny will be missed. They loved greatly and were loved greatly.

Leona was a dear friend - she was family. We had the privilege of knowing Leona and her husband, Denny for a number of years. We spent holidays and many an evening with with them. Often when we were together we played 10,000, a dice game they taught us. Our kids always found them entertaining as Leona would fuss at Denny and say he was “cheating”! Leona was a faithful friend and she enjoyed reading. She was quiet, but she could let you know what she was thinking. We were blessed to call her friend and to have her as part of our lives whether she was near or far. She will be missed- When our kids were young, we were a family of six and didn’t get invited over to peoples’ house for dinner very often. Not so with Leona and Denny. They took to us and had us over for dinner often. With our extended families both on the east coast, I guess they thought our four kids needed grandparents closer to home because they took on the role. They were at all our kids’ graduations, birthdays, and special events. They’d take Mary along with them when Becky was visiting and spend a day at the beach. We always spent the holidays together and especially Thanksgiving dinners. Leona and Denny felt that we were special and they always made us feel that way. Maybe we were. But one thing is clear. Leona and Denny were the special ones - unassuming, kind, and always giving. We have not had, and do not expect ever to have, many friends like them. Rest in peace Leona, next to your husband, and our friend, Denny. We will never forget you! David and Marie St. Martin
