Obituary for Judith K. Sparks

With the same grace and dignity she lived her life, Judith K Sparks, passed
away peacefully on November 14th, 2023 at the age of 81. Judy met
everyday with a smile and positive attitude. She led a selfless life and her
greatest happiness was in doing for others while never asking for anything
in return. Whether it was making deviled eggs, teaching or mowing the
lawn she was always eager to assist. Judy was a devoted wife to her
husband, Jeff, of nearly 62 years. Married young together they navigated
life’s challenges with love and humor. To the very end they were the
epitome of soul mates.
Judy’s love for her daughter and granddaughter was all embracing,
nourishing, nurturing and unconditional. Judy and her daughter Jeffra held
a special bond. Judy was Jeffra’s first and best friend always there to lend
an ear, offer advice or take part in a girls shopping trip. Judy was so proud
of the young woman her grand daughter, Kelsey, had become. Family
meant everything to Judy and she felt so fortunate having Kevin as her son
in law.
For 26 years Judy taught in the public school system. She was highly
revered in the community and found teaching very rewarding. Her
students were like family to her and she took special interest in each and
everyone one of them. Many of which she was still in touch with.
We will miss Judy’s smile, contagious laughter and love for life and know
her spirit will remain with us. Whether it’s a gentle summer breeze, sunny
day or sitting by a campfire we know Judy will be watching over us.
Judy is survived by her husband Jeff, daughter Jeffra, son in law Kevin,
granddaughter Kelsey, brothers Albert Muir and Ronald Lockwood,
cherished family friends Skip and Tami Kammer and soon to be grand son
in law Bobby Gehlen.. A celebration of life is being planned for this
summer. In leu of flowers please consider making a donation to Hospice of
the Wood River Valley.
