Obituary for John Brent Trimble

John Brent Trimble, “Brent” was born September 23, 1942. “Skeeter” spent most of his childhood in Davis County, Utah. He was the youngest of five born to John “Jack” and Edna Tingey Trimble. He had an adventurous childhood and loved to entertain his children with stories of that time. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Florida. After his mission, he met Marjorie Coles, the light of his life, at Dixie College, in St George, Utah. They were married In the Salt Lake City Temple, September 4, 1964.

Brent and Marge created a full and busy life together. They had two babies in Salt Lake City, attended mortuary college in Los Angeles, and returned to Salt Lake City to work for Larkin’s Mortuary where he made lifelong friends. Three more of their babies were born in Salt Lake City. They owned and operated two Idaho mortuaries in Driggs and Ashton, where their last two children were born and where Brent left a piece of his heart. They also owned and operated a funeral home on beautiful Whidbey Island in Langley, Washington. They retired in Herriman, Utah and Twin Falls, Idaho with their daughter Mindi and her family.

Brent, Dear Old Dad, Papa, was a perfectionist in his work, a loving grandpa, a carpenter, a reader, a jokester, a gardener, an intellect, a fisherman and the perfect dad. He loved his family above all, and we love him so very much - 80 beautifully full years do not seem nearly enough.

There was a grand reunion on Thursday morning, April 6, 2023, with his parents, sisters Wanda, Leone, and Gayle, big brother, Jay and a pack of wagging tails eager to greet him.

Marge and his kids; Brenda, Cheri (Steve), Scott, Jill (Nathan), Jon, Kristen (Ben), and Mindi (Will), along with his 19 grandchildren and 1 great grandson, will stay behind for now. We’re certain Dad will find a good book, a comfortable chair with a dog in his lap, and some excellent fishing until we are all together again.

The family will hold a visitation Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 11:00 am with a service to follow at 12:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 14172 Emmeline Dr., Herriman, Utah. To leave a condolence you can visit www.whitereynoldschapel.com.
