Obituary for Janie Hernandez Urrabazo

Janie Urrabazo, born December 22, 1957, rejoiced when she went home to be with the Lord on July 22nd 2020. Janie was born in southern Texas to parents Aurora and Julian who had a total of 12 children- Minerva, Aurora, Julian Jr., Raquel, Sophia, Rosa, Mario, Pedro, Janie, Bertha, Margarita, and Noemi. She grew up in Twin Falls, Idaho where she had her three sons- Roland, DJ, and Adan, and made lifelong friends. In their youth, Janie moved her family to Chicago, Illinois and began pursuing her career which then led them to Atlanta, Georgia where she had her daughter, Gabi, and thrived in the pharmaceutical industry. Later, Janie and Gabi moved back to Chicago to be with family and Janie’s mother, Aurora, for the later years of her life. Janie’s sons joined them over the years in the city as she worked her way up to director of her own department at a large company. After more than 15 years in Chicago, she finally moved back to be with friends and family in the place that felt most like home, Twin Falls.
Janie leaves behind sons Roland, Daniel, Adan and daughter, Gabriela; as well as sisters Rosa, Margie, Bertha, Noemi and brothers, Mario, and Pete. In addition to grandchildren Connor, Chris, Freya, Faith, Joey, Jerrica, married in family, Michelle and Joanna, and countless nieces and nephews. Janie will be lovingly remembered by them all, and the many friends she made anywhere she went. Janie had a close relationship with God and lived her life to honor Him. While she was always ready to be with Him and the siblings that had passed before her, she had such a love for life and the people around her that will be shown in how dearly she is missed. Her words were kind, her wisdom abundant, and her laugh infectious. She was an exceptional example of living by faith and trusting the Lord, and she always made sure those around her knew that was why she was able to live each day as the beacon of love and positivity that she was. Janie, her smile, and her spirit will always be remembered and missed.

Due to current circumstances, a memorial service will be held at a future date. We thank you for your patience and understanding in supporting the family through such a tremendous loss.
