Obituary for James William Wright

JAMES WILLIAM WRIGHT – age 87, passed away on Friday, January 21.

He was born October 19, 1934, in Kemmerer, Wyoming. He was the son of William (Bill) Wright and Mary (Stefonick) Wright. James graduated from Kemmerer High School, Class of 1952. Following graduation, he joined the Navy as a boiler technician, serving during the Korean War, onboard the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier.
After an honorable discharge from the Navy, he worked in various construction jobs in Wyoming and Utah. He would later work several years for El Paso Natural Gas before settling in with Utah Power and Light and becoming an electrician. He retired with Utah Power and Light and then worked various jobs in retirement including as a jailer in Kemmerer and an armored truck driver for Guarda in Saint George, UT.

He married Bonnie J Wright on April 16, 1963 at The Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada. They celebrated 56 years of marriage until her passing in 2020 after her long and hard-fought battle with cancer. Family was Jim and Bonnie’s number one priority and they traveled near and far to make sure they attended at least one of each child’s, grandchild’s, and great-grandchild’s events. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Paul. Surviving, James, are his daughter, Angela Winters and her husband, James, of Battle Mountain, NV; daughter, Jacqueline Buchel and her husband, Marty, of Battle Mountain, NV, and son Tony Wright of Rawlins, WY; nine grandchildren, Darrell Winters, Jake Winters, Natalie Todd, Justin Gray, Tony Buchel, Cory Buchel, Jace Buchel, Maddison Wright and Rylee Wright; nine Great-grandchildren; George Buchel, Cash Buchel, Sagen Buchel, Rowan Buchel, Jaelynn Winters, Chloe Winters and Adley Jo Winters, Saylor Winters, Gatlin Winters.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 3, 2022 at White-Reynolds Funeral Chapel 2466 Addison Ave E. in Twin Falls with a viewing from 10:30 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
