Hillari Hollie Walker, age 58, of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away after a courageous battle with a prolonged illness January 3rd, 2023, at St. Luke’s in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Hillari Hollie Hahn was born December 30, 1964, to A. Layne and Bonnie J. Hahn in Pocatello, Idaho, where she grew up. Hillari graduated from Pocatello High School in 1983. On June 15, 1984, she was married to Skip Walker of Twin Falls. Through this marriage she was blessed with three wonderful children. Hillari wore many hats throughout her lifetime. While her girls were young, she worked as a receptionist for Dr. Mary Groda Lewis. As they got older, she spent her time helping her husband with their satellite company, doing the bookkeeping and payroll from home while he traveled and did the hands-on work. When he returned home and changed careers, so did she. Hillari found her most-loved job working for Girl Scouts of Silver Sage Council. She spent years creating programs for local girls that encouraged them to step beyond their societal bounds. She made camps and programs that promoted careers like Hot Shot Firefighting with the BLM, Blackhawk piloting through the Idaho National Guard, and other such careers in the S.T.E.M. fields. After leaving Girl Scouts she spent a few years being at home with her girls, taking on the role of Cheer Mom, Soccer Mom/Coach, Basketball Mom, and the Mom to all. There were very few Hillari did not welcome with open arms into her home and heart, especially the friends of her daughters. Once they were almost out of high school, she then spent about 10 years in retail management, where she made so many friends who meant the world to her.
While she worked for almost her entire life, Hillari’s true love came later in her life when her grandchildren were born. Hillari carried the title of ‘Oma’ with a pride and joy that very few can rival. She loved her children with her whole heart, but her love for her grandchildren went even beyond that. Hillari’s oldest grandchild, Jaeden, was the light of her life and the absolute biggest jewel in her crown. She spent many nights cuddling with her grandson Kendon, who had the greatest knack for putting things like slime in her suitcase (and on her clothes) so as to prevent her from returning home after she’d come for a visit. Her grandson Lucas was, as she lovingly told his parents constantly, their karma for all the shenanigans they did as children (particularly his mother). When her youngest daughter blessed her with her grandson Lavelle, Hillari was over the moon. She referred to him as her “Little Prince” and did all she could to visit them as often as possible, especially when his little sister was born. Finally having a granddaughter sent Hillari to Cloud 9- she absolutely adored her “Little Princess” Amira. Hillari lived and breathed for her grandchildren and was looking forward to the arrival of her granddaughter-on-the-way Libi Jean Thomas.
Hillari is survived by her daughters; Whitney (Walker) Dayley (**Brock Dayley) and Heavenlee Walker (LonDarius Thomas); her grandchildren- Jaeden Dayley, Kendon Dayley, Lucas Dayley, Lavelle Thomas, Amira Thomas, and Libi Thomas; her brother Chris Hahn; and ex-husband Skip Walker. She also leaves behind many beloved family members, friends who became family, and friends who will greatly miss her infectious laugh and beautiful personality.
Hillari is preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Hahn; her father, A. Layne Hahn; her son, Lavelle Alexander Walker; and her brother, Jon Hahn.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2023, at St. Edwards Catholic Church with a celebration gathering to follow.
