Obituary for Helen L Blakeslee (Frost)

Helen Blakeslee, age 95, of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away peacefully on January 5, 2021 at Grace Assisted Living, where she was loved and taken care of for several years.

She was born on November 16, 1925 in Belpre, Ohio. She grew up in Ohio and at the age of 18, she moved to Washington DC with her older sister, Lelia and worked as a secretary. While in DC, she met a sailor, Glenn Blakeslee, who was there on leave. They were soon married and moved to his hometown of Filer, Idaho. Eventually, Helen ended up moving to Gooding, Idaho where she lived for about 60 years or more teaching everyone, in the county, how to knit. She shared her talents with everyone, while also tending a huge garden and baking her famous pies, for neighbors and friends. She started working at the Mod-O-Day dress shop in 1972 and loved it very much.

To know Helen was to love Helen. She enjoyed years of bowling with her friends and she also taught herself how to golf. For a long time, the golf course was the only place to find her. She really could make anything fun.
Helen is survived by her three children: Richard Blakeslee, Harold and Sharon Blakeslee, and daughter Jenny Lee, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Monday, January 11, 2021 from 5-7:00pm at White-Reynolds Funeral Chapel. Friends, family, and others touched by her life are also invited to join us at 2:00pm, Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at White-Reynolds Funeral Chapel in Twin Falls, ID on 2466 Addison Ave. E., to celebrate Helen’s life and share our love for her.
