George E. Brown Jr. of Twin Falls, ID. Passed away on February 14, 2023. He was 82. George was born, July 30, 1940. in Rochester, MN.. George went to school in Twin Falls until his family moved to Cincinnati Ohio where he graduated from Hughes High School in 1958. He attended the University of Cincinnati where he studied Radio Broadcasting, earning a BA degree in 1962.
George returned to Twin Falls where he had a long and successful career in radio and television, eventually serving as the General Manager for KMVT prior to his retirement.
While growing up, George developed an interest in doing magic performances for various organizations and making movies which helped to drive his interest in the performing arts. This interest later expanded into music where he became an accomplished organist and developed a passion for pipe organs, becoming a regional expert in restoring and tuning these unique instruments. Other interests included railroading, model railroading and adopting cats.
A long standing member of the community, George was recognized by Twin Falls Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors in 2005 as person of the year for his work with the Southern Idaho Partners Against Drugs.
George is preceded in death by his parents Dr. George E. Brown and Martha Luella Brown. He is survived by his siblings; Carlyn Herrman, Cincinnati, OH; Judy Bartlett, Kuna, ID.; Christopher Brown, Boise, ID. & Craig Brown, Nampa, ID.
