On February 6, 2022, Elayne Marie Mendonca, 50, passed away peacefully finally losing her long battle with Machado-Joseph Disease. Elayne was born June 25, 1971, to Joseph Mello and Maria Natalia Resendes Mendonca in the town of Arcata, California. She lived there until the age of 11 when her family moved to Gooding, Idaho. Elayne attended school in Gooding and graduated in 1990 from Gooding High School. After graduation, Elayne worked various jobs including being a bank teller for several banks in the valley. Elayne was blessed with the birth of her son Peyton Mendonca in November of 2000. He was the light of her life and had many wonderful memories shared with him. She loved all animals and had a very soft heart for horses and cats.
Elayne was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her son, Peyton, her mother Maria and her stepfather Joe Silveira. She is also survived by her brothers Joe (Noel) Mendonca and Greg (Angie) Andre along with aunts, uncles, nephews, and cousins.
