Obituary for Darleen Ann Moore

Darleen was a loving daughter born in the wild prairie (Oshkosh) of Nebraska to Roy and Anna Bentz.

She worked as a “call girl” at telephone switchboard waiting for her man to return from military service in Germany.

She was married to Thomas Wayne Moore (her man) February 18, 1951 in Sutherland, Nebraska. They migrated to Utah where she worked at a Salt refinery in the account receivable office. She then moved with Tom to Twin Falls, Idaho where Darleen worked as a receptionist and the billing office for Moore Sign Company.

While living in Twin Falls, Idaho, Darleen and Tom had three lovely children. One outstanding young man and two lovely women of high quality (if you don’t believe it just ask them). While residing in Twin Falls, Darleen was involved with Home Extension and Tupperware. Her main activity was establishing a strong household and working in the front office while Tom painted signs. She was a supportive spouse and involved in assisting Tom while he was Idaho District Governor for Rotary, and serving in Jaycees. She was on the foundation board for Goat Herders International. She sold Tupperware with a passion (we even have a few bowls in our family). Her love of the mountains and the cabin in Round House Valley is deeply ingrained in her soul.

While she certainly had her trials in life (mostly tolerating Her Man’s shenanigans), she was a continuous supportive positive force in our family of friends. Her love of life, dedication to family, and her warm smile with dry humor is an often repeated description of her life.

Darleen is now excited to be joining Christy (first borne child that lived 5 days) and Tom in heaven. Once again ready to cut a rug.

Her frequent phone conversations, remaining sharp at 91, will be sorely missed. Heaven now has a new sweet soul shining down on us all to continue with her daily guidance. Her inner and outer beauty is shining all around us. What a gift we have to cherish.

Darleen is survived by her sister Viola Dunkin. Her son Randy (Kelly) Moore, grandchildren Scott (Melissa) Moore, great grandchildren - Tobias, Channing, Melody, Alexander, Jonathan, and MacKenzie. Angela (Darren) Vanhofwegen, great grandchildren – Bailey, Ezekiel, and Asher. Her daughter Suzy (Kent-Bryce & RaeAnne) Moore- Sloan, grandchildren Austin (Ashley) Sheehy and great grandson Bridger, Jillian (Joaquin) Hawley, great grandsons- Tommy and Sean. Her daughter Marcy (Dave Cronin) Moore, grandchildren Dakota and Archer.
