Obituary for Charles "Kirk" Page

March 3, 2022

Dear family and friends,

I’m sure that most of you have heard that Kirk- that’s Kirk, not Kurt- you know, Kirk as in captain, passed away. He had been in poor health for the past five or so years and suffered a stroke last week. After discussing the prognosis and options for care with his doctors, the kids and I made the difficult decision to let him go home to the Lord. Yesterday, March 2, 2022, he joined Sherman, Elaine, Nonnie, and Grandpa Holben in Heaven.
Kirk was born on August 2, 1950 to Sherman and Elaine Holben Page in Carroll, Iowa. I’m sure that brothers Doug and Greg welcomed the new addition, just as Kirk would welcome younger brothers Brent and Scott. The family eventually landed in Storm Lake, Iowa when Sherman bought a bakery there.

After graduating from Storm Lake High School in 1968, Kirk attended Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, and Buena Vista University in Storm Lake. He earned a degree in sociology, which, he liked to say, he used every day. Many of you might remember his stint as the manager of the Pizza Hut in Storm Lake. He also managed a Pizza Hut and worked in sales in Mankato, Minnesota before moving back to Storm Lake to enter into a partnership in the Storm Lake Bakery with brother Brent.

Kirk and I got married in 1982 and were blessed with, in quick succession, sons Charles Logan (Chuck), Andrew, and Sean. Daughter Liz was truly outnumbered! In 2000 we moved to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. When Kirk retired we decided that we could no longer deal with Midwest winters and moved to Twin Falls, Idaho. Idaho is a beautiful place; Kirk loved it here.

Although Kirk did not golf- I know, weird for a Page, right?, his interests were many and varied. Whether it was running all over Pisgah with his cousins, canoeing with Mankato Dave, hiking in the mountains with John, sharing his love of music with his kids, hanging with Gonzo, Moe, and Brian, or just shooting the, (ahem) breeze with Argotsinger- who, by the way, is the only person I have met who could out talk him- Kirk entered into everything with gusto.

His brothers and their wives, his cousins Kris, Steve, Rod, and John, and, of course, the kids and I, will miss him dearly. There are no services planned at this time. He chose to be cremated and is in the care of White-Reynolds Funeral Chapel here in Twin Falls.

These past couple of weeks have been very sad, but I know that Kirk is in a far better place!
Peace out,
Lisa, Liz, Chuck, Andy, and Sean
