Obituary for Barbara LaDawn Johnson

Barbara Johnson took the next step in her eternal progression on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. At the age of 76 she had lived a full life and was ready to move on. Barbara was born on January 30, 1946 to Louie and Ruby Miller in Twin Falls. She already had three sisters and her brother was born later. Barbara met her future husband on a blind date arranged by her cousin. She married Bob Johnson and together they had three children and built many happy memories together. They were later sealed as a family for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple. They were also blessed with 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Barbara lived on her own after Bob passed in 2003 until her health began to decline and she moved to Serenity Transitional Care Center in 2019. The staff and nurses at Serenity made the most of her time there and are greatly appreciated.

Some of her favorite things included family camping trips, coloring, embroidery, reading, watching figure skating, family game nights, the Chinese restaurant on Christmas Eve and homemade tacos for New Year’s Day. After moving to Serenity she enjoyed making new friends, playing bingo, painting, jewelry making and putting together puzzles. During the years she held many church callings and especially enjoyed serving as Relief Society secretary and working in the library.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two of her older sisters, Fern and Dolly, and her granddaughter Danika. She is survived by two of her siblings, Fay (Ken) Oliver and Mike (Myra) Miller; her children, Max (Sherry) Johnson, LaDawn (Boyd) Farnworth, and Debbie Johnson; her grandchildren – Kim, Chris, Andrew, Matt, Stefanie, and Alex, and her great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Eastland Chapel 847 Eastland Dr. N. in Twin Falls; viewing from 10 to 10:45 am prior to the service at the church.
